Pengendalian impor merupakan salah satu kebijakan pemerintah (Kementerian Perdagangan Republik Indonesia) dalam upaya untuk melindungi kesinambungan pembangunan ekonomi di Indonesia, yang secara garis besar memiliki tujuan :
Meminimalisasi faktor kerugian yang dapat dialami industri di dalam negeri, sebagai akibat dari masuknya barang-barang impor yang melimpah (excess of supply) di pasar dalam negeri;
Mempertahankan iklim usaha yang kondusif, meningkatkan upaya perlindungan konsumen, menciptakan iklim persaingan usaha yang sehat, serta menertibkan komponen administrasi kegiatan impor;
Memastikan barang yang dilakukan importasi adalah barang yang sesuai dengan perizinan yang diberikan Pemerintah Republik Indonesia;
Mengurangi penyimpangan pernyataan barang (mis-declaration) secara bertahap;
Mencegah adanya ketidaksesuaian atas spesifikasi barang yang diimpor; dan
Menghasilkan data importasi komoditi yang akurat dalam penugasan yang dilakukan.
The scope of the VPTI includes administrative verification and physical verification, based on the provisions stipulated in the Regulation of the Minister of Trade for each commodity that must comply with the VPTI provisions.
The implementation of VPTI is carried out in the country of loading/port of loading of the country of origin/bonded zone/special economic zone (KEK) in accordance with the provisions stipulated in the Regulation of the Minister of Trade for each commodity that must comply with the VPTI provisions.
The scope of VPTI includes :
Administrative Verification activities are carried out at the KSO SCISI Head Office and the Executing Surveyor Hub Office, while the implementation of Physical Verification of Goods is carried out by the Inspection Office in accordance with the location of the goods. All surveyor companies partnering with KSO SCISI have an international reputation and network in the countries of origin of goods or ports of loading.
